There are two fun intimate mushroom camps hosted by Circle Pines Center in Delton, Michigan which is nestled in the woods between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo. These photos are from their Spring Mushroom Camp which is centered around Morel mushrooms, for sure. Although, if you look at the photos you will see that we found many other species as well! There is a mushroom museum right inside the registration area and then a table out front for everyone to put mushrooms they find during the weekend. Experts who come to teach classes and lead forays will identify all the mushrooms found. There are classes taught about cooking mushrooms, using mushrooms to dye fabric, lots of different mushroom art projects are available to do all weekend. Food is included for most of the weekend and they make a yummy mushroom dinner Saturday night! It is a great family event.
