What an exciting day yesterday! I was asked to photograph one of the biggest moments in a girl’s life. I was asked to photograph a marriage proposal! I was to photograph the proposal and then head out before them to capture her reaction to a surprise party with their closest friends and relatives at the Leland Lodge Resort. I had met with my client’s mom at their summer cottage in Leland, Michigan, earlier in the week so I could figure out the best spot for me to be so that I couldn’t be seen for the proposal. It happened to be in a cedar tree thicket at the edge of their property. I nestled into my spot just as the boat was coming into the dock. Hidden behind the trees. I watch them walk down to the end of the dock (where his mom had placed a piece of tape so he knew where to stand), and he swung her around and then got down on one knee.
