This fun electronic music festival is located at Mount Bohemia in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Mount Bohemia is ranked one the top backcountry ski resorts in in the United States. In addition to some of the best skiing and snowboarding, they have an amazing spa. There are several different hot tubs, a warm pool and even a cold plunge pool! They have several different saunas, a room of hot beds, and some float pods made for two. You can order some of the best pizza from the pizza shop and your favorite drink from one of the several bars nestled within the spa, making it easy to crash there after a long, hard day of snowboarding or skiing. I thoroughly enjoyed eating my pizza with my beer while soaking in the hot tub! If you are not interested in the spa, there is a super cute North Pole themed bar outside of the spa area.
I could not resist taking my board out for a couple of runs even though I was a bit nervous. Although I am a confident snowboarder at most resorts in the area and can go down black diamonds, I prefer riding blues. My first impression was that of terror and excitement, lol. Their “blue” run is really no where near a blue. I was a bit terrified to try a black diamond after that, so I sucked it up and went down the same terrifying run again. I am so glad I did! I saw some amazing views and felt very satisfied and proud that I had made it down twice without dieing, lol. I was standing at the bottom of the mountain… pretty sure that I was going to be done snowboarding for the day… I think I was trying to post a pic or something, basically my face was in my phone, and I took a small step back and had THE BEST three stooges moment when I accidentally stepped on the top of my board (which is extremely slick with snow on it) and made my ass hit the ground with my feet in the air. I started laughing and looked up right away to see if anyone had seen this hysterical moment. Sure enough, these guys were standing not too far in front of me actually trying really hard not to laugh. I asked them if they saw me and they couldn’t contain their laughter any longer and we all had a great laugh together. I talked to them about my runs and they said they were of similar skill and they had a way better spot to go. I went up with them and they showed me my favorite run in Michigan! It was so much fun! I can’t wait to spend more time on it next year.
And of course we can’t forget the music!! This music festival featured so many amazing djs! They had me moving the whole time! I could even hear them while snowboarding which was so sick. There were two locations for music. A rooftop stage with views of the mountain and hot tubs below. The dj’s spinning there were who we heard on the mountain. Then there was a spot for a dj to spin at the bar down below. There were a few artists painting along with some flow artists in the bar. The vibe was so good in the bar between the visual and sound artists’. Every dj had a different vibe and they all kept us dancing and smiling the whole time. Thanks so much for having me!
