There is a new cider house in town! Taproot Cider House opened it’s doors in January and has already become a popular spot in Traverse City, Michigan. They have an extensive drink menu featuring many ciders and microbeers on tap, along with a number of different wines and cocktails, many of them locally brewed. Some of the local brews they feature are from Northern Natural Organics, Tandem Ciders, Left Foot Charley, Acoustic Mead, Bell’s, Short’s, 2 Lads, and Bower’s Harbor. They have an Earth to Table menu featuring clean food that is free of GMO’s and grown naturally or organic in farms from the region. They make all their pizza dough and buns in house and have many gluten free options. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant. There are so many great details in the restaurant from the tree root ceiling lights, wheat grass growing in the windows, petosky stones embedded in the beautiful wood tables, and open flame oven.
